Each year more than 10% of films at Sundance Film Festival are funded on Kickstarter. To spread the word at the 2016 festival we set up a gallery event space on Main Street in downtown Park City. Our major celebration of film and filmmaking included conversations, screenings, resources, and nightly events.
Kickstarter x United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR)
We partnered with the Obama Whitehouse, USA for UNHCR, plus filmmakers and journalists from The Guardian to share a new video and written story each day to maintain awareness throughout the campaign. Kickstarter created the campaign video, new campaign pledge product page, and supporting materials including interviews with UN Ambassador Samantha Power, and Chobani founder Hamdi Ulukaya. During the 7 day campaign 27,669 backers contributed more than $1.7 million.
Kickstarter Creator Basics is a collection of helpful tips and advice from creators about common project questions. Nearly 60 episodes including "Setting your funding goal," "Telling your story," "Creating a community" were created featuring real creators.
